Art Therapy
Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses art as part of the therapeutic process.
It is useful for recovering from addictions because it is a addresses the causes of drug-related issues. Using art in therapy, you can begin to identify patterns and experiences from your life that made you into who, and how, you are today.
Our experiences are not stories, so they cannot always be expressed in words. Sometimes we need to be creative in finding ways of expressing ourselves, and in finding resolution.
Clients at Sankalpa have often found they were able to express things through art that they weren’t aware they were feeling or thinking. Art can somehow gets to the heart of things.
Read some of the stories of people like you who have been through Sankalpa and have come off methadone.
Family Support Programme
Eating healthy is essential to a healthy life. If you put good food into your body, you’ll feel great too. It’s also cheaper to eat healthy food than to fill up on empty calories from frozen food, pizza and chips.
That’s all very well, but can you or anyone in your family prepare healthy and nutritional meals? Why not join our healty eating programme and learn about nutrition and how to combat addicition and depression by making different food choices? Did you know that garlic not only reduces your blood pressure but also works as an antiseptic killing all sorts of bugs!
It’s open to family members and is funded through the dormant accounts fund. Get your ma down and she’ll be knocking up a gourmet casserole in no time!
