When to take the cuttings

Roses may be rooted most times of the year, but for home gardeners, success is most likely during the cool months from November through February.

So prepare your cutting materials the night before by getting a plastic bag, and placing some wet tissue in it. Also get an elastic band or twine. Then just as you are heading on your way to work take a 10cm- 15cm cutting from your favourite rose bush/s place it in the bag and secure with an elastic band or twine. When you get to the garden we will do the rest.

Thank you sinead for appologising about my name as you said there in your blog about the garden is a great place to be i love going up every wednesday i had a brillant time doing the hanging baskets i would have loving to bring one home sinead but that was a no no there beautiful now were they hanging but god love eddie he let one fall by accident but acccidents will happen so dont worry about it eddie its all good in the hood so see you wednesday hope the sun is shining and no raning please god paula p

I think it’s great up in the gardening Sinead. It’s really come on since the start when I was up there. It’s great to see how seeds can grow into beautiful flowers and how bulbs can grow into lovely vegetables. I’m finishing up here soon and hope to be able to drop up to see the gardening project now and then. M.
